A couple of weeks ago, Matthew Gaskill and I had a sushi dinner with people from France, Australia, Colorado, Washington D.C., and New Hampshire. For a night in Las Vegas, this may not be out of the ordinary, but each of these wonderful, inspiring people are our colleagues and part of the Sotheby's International Realty global network. While some may say "only in Vegas," we can say "only with Sotheby's International Realty."
Sotheby's International Realty organizes an amazing conference, the Global Networking Event, every 18 months. Since this brand is a true international company, we were able to meet and develop relationships with Realtors from all over the country and all over the world. This year's event at the Wynn Hotel and Casino saw 35 countries represented by over 2300 attendees that included the company's executive team, brand representatives, affiliate owners, managers, sales associates, and marketing professionals. This year the organizers set up focused groups and we were able to connect and share ideas with other agents who also specialize in the following lifestyle categories: Historic Properties, Metropolitain Sales, and Contemporary/Modern Homes.
Not only did this collection of the world's top real estate professionals provide a great networking opportunity to build our reach and offer our client's a global network no matter where they have real estate needs, the conference was designed around educational breakout sessions. Classes covered topics from negotiation skills, tapping into emerging markets, maximizing listing exposure, the use of effective content and video marketing, international referrals, and digital marketing trends. Learning how real estate is bought and sold all over the world is not only fascinating, it also provides us with resources we can access as we strive to improve how real estate is bought and sold in Los Angeles.
The Global Networking Event also provided a platform for the company to educate us on new exclusive marketing collaborations with partners such as the Wall Street Journal and Apple TV. Another example of how Sotheby's International Realty continues to break new ground as the leader in luxury real estate around the globe is a deal brokered with juwai.com to have our listings on the largest China-based real estate website in the world. Websites not hosted in China can be blocked and/or experience a lag time of over 2 minutes leading searchers to move on to other websites. Having direct access to fastest growing segment of property buyers in the world will aid our sellers to sell their homes faster and for more money. Without a doubt, the reason Sotheby's International Realty has been able to launch these industry-leading partnerships is due to how well respected and world renowned the Sotheby's International Realty brand is.
Our dinner with the owner of the Paris Sotheby's office, the owner of the Sotheby's in Melbourne Australia, and owner of the New Hampshire Sotheby's office was an amazing experience to develop new connections. Our breakfast with the owner of the Gibson Sotheby's office (our former boss) was a great way to catch up with an old friend and strengthen our relationships between Boston and Los Angeles. In addition, we connected with colleagues (both old and new) from Sydney, London, New York, San Francisco, San Diego, Miami, Italy, Ft. Lauderdale, Dallas, Salt Lake City, Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Austin, Denver, Vail, Breckenridge, Wine Country, Marin County, New Orleans, Maine, Vermont, Beijing, Hong Kong, Seattle, Cape Cod, Montana, Atlanta, and many more I am forgetting right now.
As long as Sotheby's International Realty continues to offer opportunities to help us better service our clients, we will continue taking advantage of everything Sotheby's International Realty is and will be. We are proud to be part of a brand that not only knows and protects its value, but continues to find ways to improve on it's position in the global marketplace. If you or anyone you know needs any help with real estate anywhere in the world, contact the Realtors of Gaskill + Peterson. We have a network of over 19,000 agents within 782 offices that are located in 63 countries and on every continent other than Antarctica.
